Back to school. . .

. . .in more ways than one. The students are coming back tomorrow after the Christmas holiday, but I'm referring to the "back to school" feel when we returned refreshed from our week of outdoor education (and well rested in our warm beds). We continued to study Deuteronomy, focusing on using our gifts and giving our best to God. Tobi (the blond above) was inspired to give more rides on her moto since it's really God's bike anyway. The 8th graders' learning expedition is about Ancient and Modern japan--the differences, and tying in the art to their discoveries. In English, we have been working on using vivid language to write a reminiscence of a significant memory and we'll continue revising tomorrow. But it hasn't been all work and no play. . . there was some Christmas fun before break and they were part of the program, and I hesitate to ask you to check out the less than flattering "portraits" of me above. You know how those 8th graders are!
