My life

Hi my name is Janissa. I am 15 years old. I have studied in Doulos for about 3 years and i love it. It is the most incredible school I have seen in my life. This school really showed me how to follow God and know about Him alot. I love to live in Dominican Republic but, since my dad is traveling back and forth to America that is not so good. He is far away from me and my mom. So we decided we go to New York to be together again like we were before. When I was 13 years old they wanted to put me in Christian School but I said ''No way I don't like that school. So they sent me to Doulos to study. By the look of the school it captured my attention and my heart was saying to me 'in this school you will follow and find God in some way. The teachers are really funny and fun to be with. I am leaving this summer, I hope a lot of people will come to Doulos next year because Doulos is the best school of them all. My brother and my sister, Valerie, I love them so much. They're with me here, it is a blessing having them with me in the Dominican Republic. I came to Jarabacoa first, by myself, from Santo Dominigo and I was sad that I was seperated from them. So now I am "Janissa, the happy girl".

Camping Guide

This school year, the eighth grade class has been putting together a guidebook for camping for fellow students. It includes wilderness first aid, how to cook in the woods, how to pack a backpack, what to wear and what not to wear. The guidebook is written in Spanish with the goal of training other students in our community.
